Capcom Pro Tour 2017 has concluded with the sensational finale at Capcom Cup 2017. From the kick-off at Final Round 20 in early March to Capcom Cup itself this past weekend, it’s been an incredible year with thousands of players taking part in events around the world.
This season we made some changes to how the Pro Tour operates to make it easier to follow for the average viewer, increased the number of online Ranking Events so that more players can participate in the tour from home, and added a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) for Capcom Cup. If you had the opportunity to watch Capcom Cup 2017, you will agree that the addition of the LCQ was a change that added to the excitement of the event.
It was another great year for everyone involved, from the organizers who put on the events to the players who competed as well as the spectators who watched it. We look forward to another big year in 2018!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved who continues to make the Capcom Pro Tour great. We send a big thank you to the tournament organizers and support staff who work tirelessly to make each event the best it can be. Thanks to the photographers out there who capture the action and share it with the world. Thanks to all of the players who competed this year and made the Capcom Pro Tour so thrilling to watch!
We also thank all of the player sponsors out there who help these players travel to events. Thanks to the individuals who donate directly to the players or who supported the Capcom Pro Tour by purchasing the CPT DLC content for Street Fighter V. The DLC purchases added substantially to the Capcom Cup 2017 prize pool and will help the CPT continue to grow.
Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank the fans out there who watched all of the action this year at events or via live stream. The Capcom Pro Tour would not be where it is today without the contributions of all of these great people and we appreciate it.
Capcom Pro Tour 2017 is now in the books, so we now look forward to 2018! See you next year for many more great moments!
