Hello Street Fighter fans! We’re one week away from Capcom Cup 2018 and crowning the Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition World Champion.
With everything taking place at Capcom Cup 2018, here is a guide to all the action taking place over the weekend so you don’t miss a Hadouken. For starters, here are the competitors who will play for the Capcom Cup and a prize pool totaling nearly $400,000. By the way, you can still contribute to that bonus prize pool by purchasing the CPT 2018 DLC through Tuesday, Dec. 18.
Last Chance Qualifier
The Last Chance Qualifier tournament kicks off the weekend on Friday, Dec. 14. Over 200 players have registered to compete for that 32nd spot in Capcom Cup 2018 in what should be a highly contested tournament before the main event.
No one should be taken lightly. If you recall, Nemo won the LCQ in 2017 and went on to take third place at Capcom Cup 2017.
The action starts at 10am PT. You can preview the LCQ brackets on Smash.gg.
Top 32
The Top 32 action takes place on Saturday, Dec. 15, beginning at 10am PT. You can follow the official brackets for Capcom Cup 2018 on Smash.gg.
Top 8 Finals
Finals Day will conclude the weekend on Sunday, Dec. 16. But before we get to Top 8, the day will start with the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection: Champions Collide exhibition, featuring FGC icons Alex Valle, John Choi, Afrolegends, and Damdai, competing against each other in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. The action begins at 12pm PT so don’t miss out if you want to see some good old school Street Fighter competition.
Moving on to Capcom Cup 2018 Top 8 finals, the fight for the Capcom Cup begins at 1pm PT. One player will walk away with the Street Fighter World Champion title and $250,000!
Don’t forget, our halftime show will include special guest performances by Super Cr3w, DJ Qbert, and the artists responsible for President of the World as heard on the G Gameplay Trailer – Del the Funky Homosapien, Dan the Automator, and Domino.
As an added bonus, we’ll also have demo stations for Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2 for attendees to play.
For those of you who will be attending the event in person at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas, doors open on Saturday at 9am PT and Sunday at 11am PT. LCQ is not open to the public.
