Ryan “Prodigal Son” Hart from the UK walks home with first place at Final Round
Final Round XVII Results! The event has come and gone, but the excitement generated from the first Premier Tournament in the Capcom Pro Tour is still definitely thick in the air. Among the 300+ participants who entered, it was Ryan “Prodigal Son” Hart from the UK who walked home with first place at Final Round. In addition to the spoils he received for his hard fought victory, he also receives the first spot for the Capcom Cup in December as well as 256 ranking points, which will help with his seeding at the event this December.
For those who may have not have seen Final Round last year, Ryan Hart made it to the grand finals in the winner’s bracket, just to have victory snatched from him at the hands of Seonwoo “Infiltration” Lee, who came back from losers and won two sets to become the champion. This year, history nearly repeated itself as Eduardo “PR Balrog” Perez made his way back from losers and was able to reset the grand finals bracket. It was during the small break after the reset however, that Ryan took a deep breath and gathered his thoughts. He then proceeded to show why he is one of the most resilient players around by winning the second set in a convincing 3-0 fashion!
The event did not conclude with Ryan’s victory however, as even before he could complete his celebration, he was challenged to a special exhibition where he was the first person in the world who got to fight against the newly revealed fifth character in Ultra Street Fighter IV, Decapre.
