Info
ECHO FOX|Tokido is one of several legendary players with long, storied careers to their credit. Tokido is one of the “Five Gods” of Japanese Street Fighter with a long legacy of winning at the game across multiple eras. He is playfully known as “Murder Face” because of the look of absolute seriousness on his face when facing an opponent. This is Tokido’s third Capcom Cup in a row. In 2017 Tokido has earned five top 16 finishes at Premier Events including a win at the Asia/Oceania Regional Finals at South East Asia Major. He is also the EVO 2017 Champion. Lastly, he has earned top 8 at three Ranking Events. As his nickname suggests, Tokido is all-business when it’s time to play and his skill is incredible, with years of fierce competition having sharpened it. In 2017 he switched his main character from Ryu to Akuma, trading some health for the raw damage potential of the latter character. He is without a doubt the best Akuma player in the world. Will he be the first to win EVO and Capcom Cup in the same year?
Tokido
Tokido is one of the original 5 Gods of the Japanese Fighting Game Scene, along with Daigo Umehara, Nuki, Sako, Haitani. His skills are born out of the fierce Japanese arcade scene and they carried over into his competitive play at tournaments. He has the nickname “Murder-face” because of his deadly serious expression while playing. Tokido has played multiple fighting games at a competitive level in addition to Street Fighter, including Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom 3, BlazBlue, and more. At CEO 2011 he took 1st place in Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II and took 3rd place in Tekken 6.Tokido’s Raging Demon Pose:
At SoCal Regionals 2010 Tokido played against ClakeyD. He won the match with his Raging Demon Ultra, and while the animation played on the big screen Tokido got between the screen and the projector and replicated Akuma’s pose perfectly. The Raging Demon icon was even placed perfectly across his back by the projector. It was an amazing moment and one that Tokido would do at some later events.
