The Ultra Street Fighter 4 tournament at Combo Breaker 2015 has concluded, and it was a great tournament with big players and big moments. The match between TS|Sabin and EG|Justin Wong was full of clutch plays and came down to the wire. Woflkrone, rare C.Viper in tow, took 4th place.
Liquid|NuckleDu’s Guile play was something to behold. NuckleDu was finally knocked into the Losers Bracket by EG|Ricki Ortiz to face his teammate, EG|Justin Wong, in Losers Finals. NuckleDu had momentum on his side, and in an attempt to turn the tide Justin Wong surprised many by playing Adon in his final match. It did not work, however, and NuckleDu went on to win the match and go into Grand Finals, where he would get a rematch against Ricki Ortiz.
In Grand Finals, EG|Ricki Ortiz just could not get anything going against Liquid|NuckleDu. NuckleDu’s zoning, pressure, and punishes were all on point. Ricki Ortiz started with Rufus and tried a switch to Rolando, which did not reverse her fortunes, and in the last match went back to Rufus. NuckleDu won the first set to get back into the Winners Bracket and then went on to win it all, taking 1st place at Combo Breaker 2015. Without a doubt it was NuckleDu’s tournament, and how well he had been playing lately in other events it was only a matter of time before he took 1st.
