/r/Kappa|Infiltration qualifies for Capcom Cup 2015
With more and more players willing to travel for events, especially for Premier Tournaments, an interesting situation has occurred. MCZ|Daigo Umehara, who took 1st place, has already qualified for Capcom Cup with his win at NorCal Regionals 2015. EG|Momochi, who took 2nd, earned his qualification by winning Capcom Cup 2014. This means that /r/Kappa|Infiltration, who took 3rd place, is the qualifier from this event. So congratulations to Infiltration! He has had an amazing year thus far and it is well deserved.
/r/Kappa|Epi’s Hakan Puts Kazunoko into the Spin Cycle
It’s exceptionally rare to see a great Hakan player in a tournament, and /r/Kappa|Epi generated a lot of excitement. Even the commentators admitted to being at a loss about what to say in a Hakan matchup. His match against Kazunoko was so much fun to watch, as he put Kazunoko’s Yun into an oily spin over and over with Hakan’s Oil Coaster Ultra.
Winner’s Final: /r/Kappa|Infiltration and EG|Momochi Play Cat and Mouse
/r/Kappa|Infiltration’s Decapre and EG|Momochi’s Ken played an epic game of cat and mouse in this match. We’ve seen over and over this Capcom Pro Tour season that Infiltration’s Decapre is masterful at getting in, doing damage, and getting back out. Momochi had to work very, very hard with Ken to catch or corner him in order to do damage of his own. It was a fantastic game of back and forth.

MCZ|Daigo Umehara vs EG|Momochi: An Appropriately Epic Grand Finals
EG|Momochi put MCZ|Daigo Umehara into the Loser’s Bracket with a masterful choice to bring out Cody in the final match. The two would meet again in Grand Finals, and it was every bit as epic and exciting as you would expect from two of the best players in the world. It all started off well enough for Momochi, with the first game looking fairly one sided. However, after that the set first settled into an exciting display of positioning and mindgames. As the set went on, Daigo got more and more momentum until he ended the last round to win the set with a thrilling flurry of attacks which included a 25-hit combo with his Evil Ryu! You could hear the crowd go wild and if you were watching the stream you could see the stream chat go crazy.

Since Diago was coming out of Losers Bracket his victory in the first set only got him back into the Winners Bracket, so he needed to win 1 more set to achieve victory. Momochi seemed unfazed by the last set and came out strong, winning the first match with flair. After that, it went back to seeing two amazing players read and counter-read one another. As the commentators said themselves, things were like a pendulum swinging back and forth, with both players trading temporary advantage. Daigo came away with the 1st place win, but it was hard fought as Momochi fought brilliantly as well. It was a truly epic Grand Finals and everyone was cheering at the end. This was Street Fighter at its very finest!
Congratulations to MCZ|Daigo Umehara, who with this win takes the top spot in overall Capcom Pro Tour Ranking Points!
